Delete your Be Outside account

You can delete your account and the data that goes with it at any time, from the Be Outside app, the website, or by asking us. Be Outside is run by ASHER LABS LTD.

Delete it yourself

The quickest way. It takes effect straight away, and it’s permanent: your account and your trips can’t be brought back.

In the app

  1. Open Be Outside and sign in.
  2. Go to the You tab.
  3. Choose Delete account and confirm.

On the web

  1. Sign in and open Profile.
  2. In the Danger zone, choose Delete account.
  3. Type DELETE to confirm.
Go to Profile

Can’t sign in? Ask us to delete it

Email us from the address on your account and we’ll delete the account and its data for you — permanently, as if you’d done it yourself. If you write from a different address, we’ll need to confirm the account is yours before deleting anything. We reply within one month, usually much sooner. The same goes for a hotel booking you made without an account: tell us the email it was booked under and we’ll remove our record of it.

Subscribed in the app? Cancel it first

Plus bought in the app is billed by Apple or Google, and deleting your account doesn’t stop it renewing. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings before you delete. Plus paid for on the web is cancelled for you.

What happens to your data

Deleted

  • Your profile: name, username, email, date of birth, interests and settings
  • Your sign-in identity with Clerk
  • Trips you created, with their itineraries, costs, packing lists and the hotel and flight bookings on them
  • Hotels and flights you booked on the Hotels and Flights pages (our copy — see below)
  • Reviews, reports you’ve sent, invitations, notifications and device push tokens
  • Your year planner settings, what your phone’s calendar told it, and your calendar link (which stops working)
  • A Plus subscription billed on the web is cancelled and your Stripe customer record removed; RevenueCat is asked to delete its record of your app purchases
  • Your support chat conversations in Crisp

Kept, and why

  • Hotel and flight bookings stay with LiteAPI and the hotel or airline, under their own terms.
  • Stripe, Apple and Google keep payment records for as long as financial law requires.
  • If you unsubscribed from our emails, your email address stays on a suppression list — and nothing else — so you aren’t emailed again by mistake.
  • A log of reminder emails sent (address, kind of email and date) so a reminder is never sent twice. It isn’t linked to an account, and each entry is deleted after 12 months.
